About the Award

In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy in 2012, NYFA partnered with The Andy Warhol Foundation, Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, and the Lambent Foundation (a project of the Tides Foundation) to establish the Hurricane Sandy Emergency Relief Fund. Created to assist Tri-State based artists who experienced damage or loss as a result of the hurricane, the fund awarded $1.31 million dollars to 369 artists.
